Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Lhasa

Our Tibetan English-speaking tour guide will meet you at the airport / train station and drive you to your hotel in the Lhasa old town area. Upon arrival, take a good rest for acclimatization. O/N Gangjian Hotel or Similar if late booking.

Day 2 Sightseeing in Lhasa

Our sightseeing of the holy city may start from Jokhang Temple, the spiritual structure in Lhasa. Around the temple is the bustling Barkhor street, an interesting pilgrimage circuit. And then we’ll visit the landmark of Lhasa - Potala Palace. At evening, pay a visit to a local family visit if possible. O/N Gangjian Hotel or Similar.

Day 3 Lhasa - Gyantse - Shigatse

With the fresh morning air, we’ll drive out of Lhasa to Gyantse for about 270km. On the way, we’ll take a pleasant walk at the charming Yamdrok Yumtso Lake and upon arrival at Gyantse, visit the notable Pelkhor Monastery and its superb Kumbu Stupa. Before complete today’s tour, we’ll drive another 90km to Shigatse, the political and cultural center of Rear Tibet. O/N Manasarovar Hotel or Similar.

Day 4 Shigatse - Tingri (Shegar)

The highlight of Shigatse is Tashilumpo Monastery, home to the Yellow-hat order. After sightseeing here, we’ll drive 250km to Tingri (Shegar) over the Gantso La Pass (5220m). O/N Baiba Hotel or Similar.

Day 5 Tingri - Mt. Everest Base Camp

It is about 100km windy road from Tingri to Rongbuk Monastery and Mount Everest Base Camp. You can hike about 1.5-2hrs to the Base Camp for the life-long experience with the highest mountain in the world. O/N Guest House at Rongbuk or Tourist Tent at Mt. Everest Base Camp.

Note: this night's accommodation inside the Mt. Everest reserve is very simple due to the limited local condition (in dorm. type). If you wish, we can also drive you back to Tingri for better accommodation. In the season of Apri - Oct, we usually stay overnight at the tourist tent.   

Day 6 Rongbuk Monastery / Mount Everest Base Camp - Shigatse

Get up early in the morning and enjoy the splendid sunrise over Mount Everest. Then we'll drive back to Shigatse and visit the interesting free market there. O/N Manasarovar Hotel or Similar.

Day 7 Shigatse - Nyemo - Lhasa

Drive back to Lhasa via Nyemo and Yarlung Tsangpu River. On the way, we'll visit the local village at Nyemo for the traditional way of producing Tibetan incenses. O/N Gangjian Hotel or Similar.

Day 8 Leave

Today your Tibetan tour guide will transfer you to the airport or train station and see you off there. Your wonderful Tibet Mount Everest tour ends.
