We'll send our tour guide and driver to meet you at the Tibet-Nepal border. if necessary, we have no problem to help you arrange the transport from your hotel in Kathmandu to the border as well.

This tour is not available at the moment because the Tibet-Nepal border town of Zhangmu still remains closed to tourists. It is said the situation will remain the same for the rest of 2015 and well into 2016. Flying in and out is now the main connection between Lhasa and Kathmandu.

The above price is based on a group of 4 people travelling in recent seasons and for your reference only. It includes the accommodation at a 3-star hotel in Lhasa and Shigatse, one private car, driver and local English-speaking tour guide, etc.

The 7-day Mount Everest tour from Kathmandu willl lead you through the Himalayan range to Mount Everest Base Camp and further to Shigatse and Lhasa. It is an overland tour starting at the Tibet-Nepal border where we'll send our tour guide and vehicles to meet you there.

When you have less time for the tour to Mount Everest and need to enter Tibet from Nepal, this overland trip shall be an ideal option. This tour offers the panorama of Himalayan range in Tibet, close view of Mount Everest and sightseeing of main attractions along the Tibet-Nepal highway to Lhasa.

Day 1 Kathmandu - Nyalam

Meet you at the Nepal-Tibet border and drive you to Nyalam via the border town – Zhangmmu.

Day 2 Nyalam - Lao Tingri

After breakfast, we'll drive about 150km to Lao Tingri for further acclimatization. On the way, enjoy the stunning panoramic view of Tibet Himalayas.

Day 3 Lao Tingri - Mt. Everest Base Camp - Tingri

Get up early in the morning and drive about 80km to the highest monastery in the world – Rongbuk Monastery. After sightseeing at the monastery, we’ll walk or take the reserve’s bus to Mt. Everest Base Camp for the awesome view of Mt. Everest there. After enough sightseeing at EBC, drive to Tingri (Shegar).

Day 4 Tingri - Shigatse

It is about 250km from Tingri to Shigatse. Upon arrival, visit the great Tashilumpo Monastery which houses a gigantic statue of the Maitreya Buddha and walk around in the old town for the colorful Tibetan houses and local bazaar..

Day 5 Shigatse - Gyantse - Lhasa

Drive 90km to Gyantse and visit Pelkhor Monastery there which is a fusion of Han, Tibetan and Nepali architecture, then drive another 270km to Lhasa with a visit to the beautiful Yamdrok Yumtso Lake enroute.

Day 6 Sightsee in Lhasa

The city tour in Lhasa will lead us to the most important sights incl. Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street.

Day 7 Leave

On this last day, we’ll transfer you to the airport / train station for the flight / train to your next destination. Your great Mt. Everest tour to Lhasa from Kathmandu ends.
