Lhasa - Namtso Lake (5 nights / 6 days)
Day 1 Land in Lhasa
Our staff will hold your name sign or group sign to meet you at the train station or the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the old town of Lhasa. Rest time is free for you to acclimatize the high altitude. You can wander around the city on your own but please try not to overtax yourself as the good rest on the fist day is important to your acclimatization.
A welcome dinner will be held this evening or next evening, for group members to meet each other. Enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. Overnight hotel in Lhasa.
Day 2 Tour in Lhasa Suburb [B]
We'll start our sightseeing of this old city by visiting its suburb. In the morning, visit Drepung Monastery or Drak Yerpa. Drepung Monastery is the largest monastery of Gelupa Sect once housing more than 10,000 monks. Drak Yerpa is known for its medication caves used by many holy men in Tibet. And in the afternoon, we'll visit Sera Monastery where the interesting debate between Lamas over doctrine is often held as the learning process of Tibetan Buddhism. Overnight hotel in Lhasa.
Day 3 Tour in Lhasa City [B]
The city tour will lead you to the splendid Potala Palace which is the cardinal landmark of Tibet and Lhasa, and the solemn Jokhang Temple in the old town area which is the spiritual center of local people as well as the busy Barkhor Street around the temple. Overnight hotel in Lhasa.
Day 4 Lhasa - Namtso Lake [B]
In this early morning, we'll drive about 250km to the Heavenly Lake of Namtso via Nagenla Pass (5190m). It is the largest lake in Tibet and highest saltwater lake in the world. Its purity and solemnness are symbols of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Overnight guest house at Namtso.
Day 5 Namtso Lake - Lhasa
After enjoy the sunrise over Namtso Lake, we'll drive back to Lhasa. On the way, pay a visit to Yangpanchen Hot Spring where you can take a short spring bath at own cost. Overnight hotel in Lhasa.
Day 6 Leave Lhasa, Tour ends [B]
